St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, September 11, 2018 - INNOLTEK Inc., a biodiesel and biodegradable industrial products manufacturer, announces today its plan to reorganize operations following the acquisition of the facility in St-Jean- sur-Richelieu, Quebec in November 2017.
INNOLTEK announces that all the company's activities will be done at the St-Jean-sur-Richelieu plant. Indeed, the production of biodiesel and biodegradable industrial products as well as the distribution of all products will be done from the St-Jean facility. As a result, INNOLTEK will cease its operations at the Thetford Mines plant on October 26, 2018.
"This centralization of operations marks an important step in the development of Innoltek. The Thetford Mines site suffered from a location that did not have rail access and was not close to major highways. In addition, the plant had limited capacity. This centralization of activities will allow us to concentrate our efforts on the St-Jean-sur-Richelieu site which has interesting logistics access including the railway. We have already invested in the St-Jean plant and the results are convincing. We are continuing our mission to become a leader in the production of biodiesel in Eastern Canada, "said Simon Doray, CEO of INNOLTEK.
Let's not forget that the governments of Canada and Quebec have set ambitious targets for reducing greenhouse gases, particularly in the transportation sector. The federal government has announced its Clean Fuels Standard, which will require that lower carbon fuels be delivered to the market place. The Quebec government will shortly issue a regulation to include biofuels in gasoline and diesel. This regulation is expected to come into force in 2020. "The actions of the government in Quebec provide the basis for building a biofuels sector that will grow and that will contribute to the growth of the green economy in Quebec.” Says Mr. Doray.
The company's head office will be transferred from Thetford Mines to St-Jean-sur-Richelieu soon.
